About the Audio Mixing for This Track:
Atmospheric Mix presents a deviation from my usual fixed media electronic compositions. The work functions as experimentation with spacing and auditory illusions. Instead of applying a typical stereophonic mix, where I would pan the audio in both the left and right channels (and at times “move” the sound from speaker to speaker), I chose to use an eight-dimensional audio effect from the CD-ROMantic smartphone application to complement the music that I created through Reaktor 6 Player and Audacity. The “8D Effect” provides listeners with a more immersive aural experience by causing the music to “rotate” around them at three hundred sixty degrees, even though I still use two audio channels. I highly recommend listening to Atmospheric Mix with headphones to get a better grasp of the audio effect.
